Here’s a classic but creative way of raising money for your organization.  Have you considered organizing a charity run?  You could organize a charity run (5K runs are quite popular for fundraising), bike race or triathlon.

In order to raise money, in these events, each runner, racer, cyclist, etc. is asked to seek sponsorships.  A certain level of money is required in order to participate.  After paying for costs associated with hosting the run, the rest of the revenue is left to be donated to worthy causes.  One hundred runners at the bare minimum of $25 per runner would mean $2,500 in revenue.  For some groups, it might be difficult to attract over 100 runners, but it shouldn’t be difficult to encourage people to get sponsored at levels far above $25 if they believe in the cause.  If you want to spice it up a bit, how about organizing a charity field day, obstacle course or softball tournament?  You could even organize a charity eating competition!
