This is a simple fundraising idea.  Everyone’s heard of a bake sale, but we offer a few suggestions about where to hold your organization’s bake sale in order to maximize revenue.

Focus on areas where parents and children come together.  If you’re in an area with just children, you won’t make any money (as they don’t have any).  If you’re in an area with only adults, you can highlight the charitable aspect of your fundraiser and get some purchases, but not a ton.  If you target an area where children are together with their parents, you’re in luck.  Specifically, focus on elementary schools right when children get out of school, local parks and right after religious services get out (assuming you’re permitted to hold a bake sale in those locations, of course).

Also, focus on “the drunk crowd.”  This sounds a bit odd, but drunk people will pay a great deal for baked goods and they’re remarkably easy to track down.  Just find a location where you can setup your table near clubs, bars or a concert.  With this, you’ll need to make sure that you have the necessary permits to sell food on the street.  Consult your local government for advice on making sure you’re complying with local regulations.  Good luck!
